A new factory of neonatal devices is opened by Fanem in Bangalore

Fanem, a Brazilian leader in the manufacturing of neonatology products, has opened a factory in Bangalore in September 2011. With 87 years of existence and exporting its products to more than 90 countries, Fanem is an example of a successful Brazilian company. During its first years of work it launched the first electrical medical appliances in Brazil, including the first Brazilian incubator in 1954.

India has been selected as Fanem’s first international base due to its similarity to Brazil as regards its healthcare needs. Dr. Karin Schmidt, Scientist Director of the company and the fourth generation of Schmidt´s family was in Bangalore for the official opening. She believes that the success of Fanem´s activities in India is directly related to the international know–how of the company and the challenge of contributing with the hospital modernization process and helping to save Indian babies´ lives.
