Brazil’s largest exporter of neonatal equipment intends to increase the exposure of its innovative products, in the event representing the world's largest showcase of medical products.

Fanem, a Brazilian multinational that manufactures products in the neonatology and laboratory segments, is once again participating in Medica - International Congress and Exhibition of Medicine, the world's leading event in the sector of medical services and products, which will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany (November 14-17). The Brazilian manufacturer, whose exports correspond to 35% of its sales revenue, will feature a complete line of neonatal products, particularly the innovative Duetto® 2386 Hybrid Unit. This is the first truly Brazilian piece of equipment, as well as one of the first in the world, with hybrid functions, i.e., it operates both as an incubator and radiant infant warmer.

"Participating in Medica is strategic for Fanem, since it showcases our products internationally. This exposure is important because exports increasingly account for a significant share of sales", explained Djalma Luiz Rodrigues, Executive Director of Fanem.

Fanem sells its products in over 100 countries and is responsible for 90% of all Brazilian neonatal equipment exported, primarily to Latin America and the Middle East. In the last few years, it has been investing in strengthening new commercial fronts overseas, which has resulted in Africa becoming one of the company's main markets. In addition to a factory in Guarulhos, in São Paulo, Brazil, it has two other plants abroad – one in Bangalore, India, and another currently being set up in Guadalajara, Mexico. Apart from that, it has an office in Amman, Jordan, as well as an organized network of representatives in every country where it operates.

Among the products that Fanem will show the international market during the event is the Duetto® 2386 Hybrid Unit, designed to meet the needs of neonatal health teams and provide comprehensive, safe treatment. Its characteristics allow health teams to access patients easily and quickly and reduce situations of movement, thereby improving the prospects of the treatment. The equipment, which has a rotational and sliding bed, was designed to minimize the risk of infection and contamination, avoid accumulation of dirt and facilitate cleaning, while also providing the best thermal conditions for newborns.

Other equipment that will be presented are: the Ampla® 2085 intensive care unit; Bilitron® 3006, Bilitron® Sky 5006 and Bilitron® Bed 4006 phototherapy equipment; IT 158TS transport incubator; Babypap® neonatal bubble CPAP; Babypap® neonatal resuscitation device; and Oval Baby® hospital bassinet.

This will be the sixth year in a row that Fanem will have its own stand, in Pavilion 11. Before this, Fanem was always located in the Brazilian Health Devices pavilion, of ABIMO/APEX which, this year, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the trade fair. Medica draws over 4,000 exhibitors annually from different countries, as well as visitors from every continent, ranking as one of the 10 largest international trade fairs and the biggest in the medical sector.
